  • A2Z Maintenance & Engineering Services Ltd (A2Z) is an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) company providing services to the power transmission and distribution sector with a primary focus on the distribution segment.

  • The company is diversifying its business to provide EPC services to companies in other sectors including road and telecommunications and also expand focus on power generation companies

  • Power IT solutions: The company has recently diversified into the power information technology (IT) solutions business, where it executes projects as a systems integrator by developing solutions for aggregate technical and commercial loss reduction in India.

  • The company's business operations are geographically spread across India, conducted directly by itself and through its direct/indirect subsidiaries.

  • The other businesses in which the company is involved in and focused on include the following:
    (i) generating power from renewable energy sources.
    (ii) providing municipal solid waste management services.
    (iii) providing facility management services and
    (iv) developing information technology solutions for power utilities.

  • Financial Performance: The consolidated income from the EPC business in fiscal 2008, 2009 and 2010 was Rs 4,536.47 million, Rs 6,644.22 million and Rs 11,227.83 million respectively, accounting for 94.25%, 91.79% and 91.63% of the total income for such years as per the company's restated consolidated summary statements. As of March 31, 2010, the company's outstanding order book from the EPC business was approximately Rs 13,835.00 million.
